New page

This page walks you through your first PocketBot.

1. Find a sealed capsule
Capsules cannot be crafted from raw materials. They appear as loot in vanilla structure chests, for example in dungeons, ruins and portals. Better chests drop capsules more often and of higher rarity. The exact odds are on Finding Capsules.

A capsule looks like a small egg. Its color shows the rarity.

2. Open it
Right-click the sealed capsule. This rolls:
* a random bot type, each of the nine with the same chance,
* a random name such as "Bolt-7",
* one of three color variants,
* a set of random bonuses that depends on the capsule's rarity.

The chat shows what you got, and the sealed capsule turns into a bot capsule whose icon shows the bot inside. Its tooltip lists every bonus.

3. Send your bot out
Right-click the bot capsule to deploy the bot. While it is out:
* it follows you everywhere, in Survival and in Creative,
* its bonuses apply to you,
* its icon and name are shown next to your hotbar, and your active bonuses appear as icons on the left edge of the screen.

Right-click the capsule again to pack the bot up. Only one bot can be out at a time. More on this on Mechanics.

4. Get better bots
Two sealed capsules of the same rarity can be fused at the Workbench (category Tinkering) into one sealed capsule of the next rarity. Fusion is the only way to upgrade. See Fusion.

Everything about a bot is stored in its capsule, so you can store it in a chest, carry several and trade them like any other item.
