UtilityBiome:Commands
Utility Biome adds the command /ub, with the long alias /utilitybiome. By default only operators can use it. The permission nodes are listed on Installation.
Options are written as --name value, for example /ub next Forest_Birch --gap 800. Command output is currently in German. The teleport and lookup commands also write their result to the server log, so you can copy coordinates from there.
Overview
| Command | Needs a player | What it does |
|---|---|---|
/ub where |
yes | Shows the zone and biome at your position. |
/ub list [--filter <text>] |
no | Lists every biome the world generator has loaded, from vanilla and from mods. |
/ub census [--radius <n>] [--step <n>] [--x <n>] [--z <n>] [--filter <prefix>] |
no | Counts the biomes in a square area and tells you where the nearest patch of each one is. |
/ub next <biome> [--gap <n>] [--radius <n>] |
yes | Teleports you to the next patch of a biome that you have not visited yet. |
/ub caves <zone> |
no | Lists the cave types of a zone, ores included. |
/ub cave <cave type> [--radius <n>] |
yes | Teleports you into the nearest cave of a type. |
/ub features |
no | Lists the chunk features other mods have registered and how often each was placed. |
/ub feature <id> [--gap <n>] |
yes | Teleports you to the next spot where a chunk feature was placed. |
"Needs a player" means the command uses your position and only works in the game. The others also work from the server console.
Biome names
Biomes are shown as Zone/Tile.Name or Zone/Custom.Name, for example Zone1_Tier1/Tile.Forest_Birch.
- Tile biomes are the main biomes of a zone.
- Custom biomes are smaller biomes placed on top of them, such as rivers, mountains or the sub-biomes of a mod.
When a command asks for a biome name, give only the last part without Tile. or Custom., for example Forest_Birch.
/ub where
Shows your block position (x, z), the zone and the biome, and whether it is a Tile or a Custom biome. It reads the world generator directly, so it also works for biomes added by mods and has no delay.
/ub list
Lists all biomes the world generator of the default world has loaded, with a count at the top. Use it to check that a mod's biomes arrived at all before you go looking for them.
--filter <text>: only biomes whose full name (Zone/Tile.Name) contains this text. Upper and lower case matter.
Example: /ub list --filter BetterBiomes_
/ub census
Samples a square area of the default world and reports which biomes occur there and how much of the area each one covers. It runs in the background and works from the console.
| Option | Default | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
--radius |
2000 | Half the side length of the square, in blocks. Allowed: 0 to 20000. |
--step |
32 | Distance between two samples, in blocks. At least 1. |
--x, --z |
0, 0 | Centre of the square. The census does not use your position, it uses these values. |
--filter |
(none) | Only list biomes whose name starts with this text, for example BetterBiomes_. The shares are still calculated over all biomes.
|
How to read the result is explained on Biome Census.
/ub next
Teleports you to the nearest patch of a biome that is at least --gap blocks away from every spot where you already were with this command and this biome. Run it several times in a row and you hop from patch to patch instead of landing in the same one again.
| Option | Default | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
<biome> |
required | Biome name without Tile./Custom., for example Forest_Birch. Upper and lower case do not matter.
|
--gap |
400 | Minimum distance in blocks to the spots you already visited. |
--radius |
8000 | How far to search, in blocks. |
- The search works in your current world, in rings around you, with one sample every 16 blocks.
- You land on the surface of the target, two blocks above the ground.
- Visited spots are remembered per player and biome (up to 50) until the server restarts.
- If nothing is found, check the name with
/ub list.
/ub caves
Lists the cave types of a zone in the default world. Ores count as cave types in Hytale, so they show up here too. This shows whether a mod's caves or ores were really added.
<zone>: the zone name, for exampleZone1_Tier1. It must match exactly. If the zone is unknown, the command lists all zone names.
/ub cave
Teleports you to the start of the nearest cave of a type, so you end up inside the cave, not on the surface above it.
| Option | Default | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
<cave type> |
required | Name of the cave type, as shown by /ub caves. Upper and lower case do not matter.
|
--radius |
5000 | How far to search, in blocks. |
- The search stops after checking 64 caves. Some caves only form under certain biomes. If the search gives up, fly to such a biome first (for example with
/ub next) and try again. - If the start of the cave lies outside the world (below y 2 or above y 318), you are not teleported. The coordinates are still shown.
/ub features
Lists every chunk feature that mods have registered. For each one it shows the ID, how often it was placed since the server started, its chance per chunk, the biomes it is limited to (or "alle" for all), and the matching /ub feature command. If no mod registered a feature, it says so.
/ub feature
Teleports you to the nearest spot where a chunk feature was placed, for example /ub feature betterbiomes:overhang (the ID comes from /ub features).
--gap(default 64): the spot must be at least this many blocks away from spots you already visited with this command and this ID.- Only spots placed since the last server start are known, and only in your current world. Features are only placed in newly generated chunks, so fly into unexplored land first. Up to 2000 spots per feature are remembered.
- You land three blocks above the first block the feature placed.
