The version numbers on this page are the ones in the extension's package.json. Versions before 4.0.0 were called Quick Tasks and had a different extension id.

4.0.0 (2026-10-18)

  • The extension is now published as Task Deck by MutigerAffe. The extension id is MutigerAffe.task-deck. An earlier version installed under the old id has to be removed by hand. See Installation.
  • The license is now a proprietary license.

1.2.0 (2026-10-18)

  • New extension icon.
  • New monochrome icon in the Activity Bar that follows the current theme.

1.1.0 (2026-09-16)

  • Icon and color of a source are now set only in the Settings editor. quickTasks.sourceIcons and quickTasks.sourceColors offer dropdowns with suggested values. The Configure Source wizard was removed.
  • Hiding a source now removes it and its tasks from the view completely, instead of leaving a dimmed row. New command Show Hidden Source… in the Command Palette to show it again.

1.0.0 (2026-09-11)

The first version.

  • Sidebar view with all tasks VS Code knows about, grouped by source. Click a task to run it.
  • Settings for each source: visibility, icon, color and include and exclude name patterns. Sources that are no longer found keep their settings and are marked in the view.
  • The stored task list is shown at once on startup. The current list is collected in the background.
  • Clicking a task that is still loading shows a status bar message.
  • Pinned group at the top of the view.
  • Run state on the task icons: a spinner while the task runs, a warning triangle with the exit code after a failed run.
  • Search across all visible tasks from the view title.
  • Setting quickTasks.sourceSaveToUser to save a source's settings to the user settings.
  • Hidden sources stayed in the view as dimmed rows and could be shown again from there.
  • A Configure Source wizard for icon, color, filters and save location.
