Exactly one per network
- Without a core, the network does nothing.
- With two or more cores, the network is locked until you remove all but one.
See the core rule.
Bench slots
The core holds up to 40 crafting benches. Every bench in the core unlocks its recipes in the terminal, using the materials stored in the network. Each kind of bench counts only once: if you click a second Workbench, or if all 40 slots are full, it is stored in the network like any other item.
You fill and empty the bench slots from the terminal only:
- Click a bench in the inventory panel of the terminal to put it in.
- Click a bench in the Benches column to take it back.
- Upgrade a bench with the arrow button below it.
Benches from other mods work too. Details on Crafting from the Network.
Loading Mechanism slot
One extra slot takes the Loading Mechanism, which keeps the network's chunks loaded. It is shown in the Loader column of the terminal.
Breaking the core
Breaking the core drops its benches and the Loading Mechanism. Vanilla benches that were upgraded inside the core go back to tier 1, and their upgrade materials drop next to the core, so nothing is lost.
