BlockFactory:Goblin Planner

From MutigerAffe Wiki
Jump to navigation Jump to search

The Goblin Planner is your tool for blueprints and mass building. It copies, cuts and pastes parts of your factory, marks areas for deconstruction and marks parts for an upgrade. The work itself is done by Hob-Goblins from a Goblin Hut, or by you placing the parts by hand.

Getting the planner

You craft the Goblin Planner: Copy (1 Electronic Circuit, 2 Wood) after the research Goblin Logistics (Epoch 2). The other modes are the same item: press R to switch.

Modes

Each mode shows as its own item in your hotbar, so the icon and name tell you which mode is active. When you switch, a notification shows the new mode and its keys. The blueprint and the chosen upgrade tier stay in the planner.

Mode What it does Available from
Copy Takes the parts in an area as a blueprint, then switches to Paste Goblin Logistics
Paste Places the blueprint as ghosts Goblin Logistics
Cut Like Copy, and marks the copied parts for deconstruction Hob-Goblin Construction
Deconstruct Marks the parts in an area to be torn down Hob-Goblin Construction
Upgrade Marks the parts in an area to be replaced by another tier Hob-Goblin Construction

Before Hob-Goblin Construction, switching only cycles between Copy and Paste.

Controls

Mode Left-click Right-click R Crouch
Copy, Cut First corner Second corner: copy or cut Next mode + right-click: clear the selection
Paste – Place the blueprint as ghosts Rotate 90° + right-click: open the library; + R: next mode
Deconstruct First corner Second corner: mark Next mode + right-click at the second corner: cancel marks and ghosts in the area
Upgrade First corner Second corner: mark Choose the target tier + right-click at the second corner: cancel marks and ghosts; + R: next mode

Selecting an area

  1. Left-click a block for the first corner. Sparkles then show the box from there to where you look.
  2. Right-click the opposite corner.

The box covers the area between the two corners, from the lower corner up to 8 blocks above the higher one. Only factory parts of your own team count. Goblin Huts are never marked for deconstruction.

Copy, cut and paste

  • After a copy the planner switches to Paste and holds the blueprint. It is named after its most common part, for example "Brick Furnace (12)".
  • In Paste mode the blueprint hangs where you look as a live preview of ghost models:
    • white-blue where it fits,
    • red where the space is taken,
    • yellow where the part is missing in the chests of the hut network.
  • Right-click places the ghosts on the block above the one you look at. The planner stays in Paste mode, so you can place the same blueprint again and again.
  • R rotates the blueprint by 90°.
  • Large blueprints show only their first 64 parts in the preview.

Ghosts

Placed ghosts stay in the world as see-through models of their part. Hob-Goblins build them with parts from the Provider and Storage chests of the hut network (see Goblins). If you place the matching part on a ghost yourself, the ghost is done, so you can fill ghosts by hand without any Hob-Goblins.

After you place ghosts or marks, the chat tells you if nothing will happen: no Goblin Hut within reach, no Hob-Goblins in the huts there, or parts missing from the chests.

Deconstruct and upgrade

  • Deconstruct marks every part in the box. Hob-Goblins tear them down and bring them, with their contents, to a Storage chest in the network.
  • Upgrade marks parts to be replaced. R cycles the target: "next tier" (each part to its own next tier), then tier 2, 3 and 4. Only parts that come in tiers are marked (belts, underground belts, splitters, grabbers, pipes, fabricators, small and medium power poles and more), and only to tiers that exist. The Hob-Goblin brings the new part from the network and the old one goes to a Storage chest.
  • Marked parts show a status icon for deconstruction or upgrade.
  • Crouch while you right-click the second corner to cancel marks and ghosts in the area.

You can also swap a single part without the planner: place another tier of the same part directly on it. It swaps in place, keeps its direction, and the old part and its contents go to your inventory.

Blueprint library

Crouch and right-click in Paste mode to open the Blueprints library. It lists your team's blueprints with their part count and which parts are missing in the Provider and Storage chests near you.

Button Effect
Save the blueprint in the planner Saves the blueprint the planner holds
Paste Loads a blueprint into the planner
Delete Deletes the blueprint

Export and import

Every library entry is a readable JSON file on the server, in the world's save folder under blockfactory/blueprints/<team>/<name>.json. Players without a team share the folder world. To share a blueprint, pass the file on. With the planner in your hand:

Command Effect
/blueprint --export=<name> Saves the planner's blueprint under that name (also a way to rename it)
/blueprint --import=<name> Loads that file into the planner and switches to Paste
/blueprint --list Lists the saved blueprints (no planner needed)

Names may use letters, digits, - and _, up to 40 characters.
