Golems were the workers of the Ancients. You call them at the Portal of the Ancient, and each one needs a Golem Core as its heart. Golems crush ore in refineries, run the Golem Research Center and pull the Golem Locomotive. Their wild relatives, the War Golems, guard the ruins as enemies; see Enemies.

Calling a Golem

The Golem call opens with the research Golemcraft (Epoch 2). Golemcraft also unlocks the Gold Bar, the Golem Core, crushed ore and the Stone Golems Refinery.

Golem Core: 5 Stone Brick, 2 Electronic Circuit, 1 Gold Bar (5 s, by hand or in a Fabricator). Besides the Golem call, cores go into rune modules, the Big Stone Golems Refinery, the Golem Locomotive and portals built with Ancient Rites. At a Golem Research Center a core is worth 10 Gol.

A Golem works in front of each Stone Golems Refinery, Uranium Golems Refinery and Golem Research Center.

Stone Golems Refinery

Golems crush ore before it goes into the furnace: 4 ore become 6 crushed ore and 1 Stone, and each crushed ore smelts into one plate or bar. That is 50 % more metal from the same ore.

The Golems' uranium centrifuge (Epoch 5, unlocked by Uranium Processing): 3 × 3, 350 kW electric, speed ×1. Recipe: 1 Golem, 100 Concrete, 50 Steel Plate, 100 Advanced Circuit, 100 Iron Gear.

Golem Locomotive

A Golem pulls this locomotive. It needs no fuel and reaches 15 blocks per second. Recipe: 1 Steam Locomotive, 2 Golem Core, 10 Rune Slate (Epoch 4, research Golem Locomotive). See Railways.
