Many of the new biomes bring a building material to take home: 15 wood sets and three kinds of brick. All of them are crafted at the Builder's Workbench.
Wood sets
Every wood set has the same 13 blocks:
- Planks, Planks - Half Slab, Stairs, Beam
- Fence, Fence Gate
- Decorative Planks, Ornate Planks
- Roof, Roof - Flat, Roof - Hollow, Roof - Shallow, Roof - Steep
Planks are made from logs of that tree. Logs of these species give their own planks, but the vanilla plank recipes still work too. The other blocks of the set are made from the planks; ornate planks are made from logs.

Since 1.3.0 every set also has decorative and ornate planks and all five roof shapes.
Burnt wood
The burnt wood set starts with Burnt Planks, which come from the Burning Desert:

Bricks
Each brick type has Brick, Stairs, Half Slab, Wall and Beam. A brick block takes one block of its source material.

One brick block makes two wall blocks.
Other materials
- Limestone from the Karst Peaks works with the vanilla limestone brick set.
- Pink Crystal Shards come from the crystals of Pink Ice.
- Calcite covers the Sinter Terraces.
