BetterBiomes:Devastated Lands
The new biomes of Zone 4, the Devastated Lands. Tier 4 gets forests and fungi, Tier 5 gets fire, crystals, a volcano, floating islands and a rift into the depths.

Unholy Forest
Tier 4 · BetterBiomes_Forest_Unholy
The vanilla ghost forest, but blood red: red leaves and grass, blood blossom petals, bones, red glowing mushrooms, dead ash trees and crumbling giant skeletons between the petrified trees. Dead giant trees tower over the forest, and ruined chapels with a chest stand between them.
Radioactive Shroom Fields
Tier 4 · BetterBiomes_Shroom_Fields
A poisoned plain with giant mushrooms (including violet ones that vanilla never uses), green glowing mushrooms, boomshrooms, poison grass and green geodes. Every hollow is filled with a poison pool.
Silver Woods
Tier 4 · BetterBiomes_Silver_Woods
A gloomy forest of silver stormbark trees with faintly glowing nightshade between them. Ruined chapels with a chest stand in the woods. Stormbark logs give the Stormbark wood set; you can also grow a Silver Sapling.
Fungal Jungle
Tier 4 · BetterBiomes_Fungal_Jungle
A jungle of giant mushrooms on purple mycelium, with glowing mushrooms, glowflowers, violet water and drifting violet spores. Extra tree-sized mushrooms grow on the mycelium.
Burning Plains
Tier 5 · BetterBiomes_Plains_Burning
A plain that is burning right now: ash, glowing cracks, flames everywhere and burning trees, with lava in the hollows. Charred dead giant trees stand in the fire.
Glowing Shimmer
Tier 5 · BetterBiomes_Glowing_Shimmer
A crystal forest with giant crystals and crystal ferns, crystal pits, floating crystals, geodes in all colors and glowing crystal ground. Clusters of cyan crystals grow on the surface.
Gravitation Skylands
Tier 5 · BetterBiomes_Skylands
The ground is ash and cooled lava with scattered violet crystals and lava in the hollows. Above it float islands:
- In about 70% of the chunks there are 2–4 islands, in three sizes: small (radius 3–5), medium (6–9) and large (10–13 blocks).
- Each island floats at its own height, 40–90 blocks above the ground.
- On top grow grass, ferns and shrubs. Below the dirt hangs a cone of volcanic rock with a basalt tip and violet crystals underneath.
- Sometimes a little stream of water runs off an edge.
Volcano
Tier 5 · BetterBiomes_Vulcano
A small volcanic cone, about 120 blocks across, standing alone on the plain. The crater rim reaches about y 170, and a lava lake fills the crater. Basalt columns rise on the slopes like organ pipes.
Crystal Chasm
Tier 5 · BetterBiomes_Crystal_Chasm
Narrow, winding canyons up to about 40 blocks deep cut into the ash desert. Crystals in all colors grow on the floor and at the foot of the walls, along with crystal trees and clusters of purple crystals. Glitter drifts through the air.
Void Scar
Tier 5 · BetterBiomes_Void_Scar
A jagged, very deep rift through the burnt land. It reaches down to about y 45, right into the underground jungle. Along its edges you find black ground, black petals, spiral trees and voidstone. Broken chunks of volcanic rock with voidstone veins and hanging violet crystals float above the rift at y 100–150, and violet void weather hangs over it.
Meteor craters
Rarely, a meteor has struck one of the vanilla biomes of Tier 4 or 5. See Landforms and Features.
